sendmail --> email über localhost`?

hallo,

ich habe einmal eine frage. ist es möglich local sendmail zu installieren und dann auch mails an bla@localhost schicken zu können, um so etwas auch local zu testen??

was muss man dafür alles installieren? gibt es dafür evenutell ein tutorial?

bei jedem einigermaßen aktuellen unix/linux ist sendmail bereits dabei.

und und`wie funktioniert es unter win2000?

ich habs noch nich gemacht, aber ich bin mir sicher, dafür brauchst du einen eigenen Mailserver!
Sollte sich aber ohne Probleme im Internet finden lassen

noch ne frage

also nochmal danke für den mailserver tipp. das funktioniert perfekt. nun hätte ich noch eine frage zu sendmail. also ich habe das nun unter c:/sendmail installiert. .... wo muss ich nun eintragen, dass php das anspricht.

also für die installation hatte ich foxserv verwendet somit liegt php nicht auf der obersten ebene sondern im ordner

c:\foxserv\php

........

wie erreiche ich nun, dass bei aufruf
der funktion mail() sendmail angesprochen wird?

variable sendmail_path in der php-ini definieren.
das alles geht aber natürlich nur, wenn der argosoft-mailer sendmail-kompatibel ist. ich habe da aber so meine zweifel, da er anscheinend nur als smtp, pop3 und finger-server agiert.
